hearLIFE Clinic at CAO Trinidad & Tobago 2016 Conference

The Caribbean Association of Otolaryngology (CAO) hosted its 24th Annual Conference in the Hyatt Regency in Trinidad & Tobago March 7- 10, 2016. The members of the CAO comprise persons from the English-speaking Caribbean countries, the Dutch Antilles, the United Kingdom and the United States of America. The focus of this conference was to promote ‘Best Clinical Practises’ among ENT Surgeons and to promote the exchange of information, regarding hearing improvements in patient care.
Dr. Scriven, head of Audiology at the hearLIFE Clinic Nassau, was honored to be one of the presenters at the conference. She spoke about the advantages of having a Cochlear Implant Clinic in a country like the Bahamas where medical tourism has become a major thrust. Dr. Scriven described patient selection and implantation, hearLIFE Clinic’s comprehensive state-of-the-art services, audiological and surgical assessments as well as communication management.
A case history overview of the country’s first cochlear implant patient was also shared with the participants highlighting the significant benefits to be derived from a surgery such as this one, which ultimately improve the person’s life forever.
